Second Semester of 2026 Announcement of Interdisciplinary Major Application
※ Based on Article 35, Chapter 4 of the Academic Regulations (Interdisciplinary Major), Chapter 6, Section 2 of the Academic Operation Regulations, and the Interdisciplinary Major Guidelines
An interdisciplinary major is a program in which students, while completing their primary major during their enrollment period, combine two or more departments or academic fields, or connect them around specific themes. Students who complete the minimum required credits (36–81 credits) for the program will be recognized as having a second major and will be awarded two degrees upon graduation.
1. Selection Method
a. Applicants will be selected by the relevant supervising college/department and the Interdisciplinary Major Committee, considering academic ability and educational conditions.
b. Document evaluation scores will reflect the cumulative GPA (including F grades) of all courses taken up to the most recent semester.
2. Eligibility Requirements
a. Students currently enrolled who have completed at least three semesters and are applying for an interdisciplinary major in accordance with Articles 104 and 112 of the Academic Operation Regulations (students without a declared major are not eligible)
- Enrollment period for the current semester: one semester (March 1 – July 31)
b. Transfer students may apply after completing at least one semester at this university
c. Students on leave of absence are not eligible
- If a student takes a leave of absence after applying or after acceptance (during the semester), the application will be considered rejected or withdrawn
- However, students may take a leave of absence starting from the semester following their acceptance
d. Students who have already been accepted into an interdisciplinary (double) major are not eligible. However, applicants who withdraw from a previously accepted second major may reapply, provided that the withdrawal request is completed by April 13, 2026 (Mon) 17:00
3. Application Period: April 15, 2026 (Wed) 10:00 ~ April 17, 2026 (Fri) 17:00
4. Application Method
a. Portal (KUPID) → Registration/Graduation → University Registration→ Interdisciplinary Major Application (Must click ‘Final Submit’ after temporary saving)
b. Study Plan: Motivation/Areas of interest or relevant courses/Academic plan/Additional information (maximum 1,000 Korean characters per section):
※ When writing the study plan, ensure temporary saving and maintain portal login status
※ Due to possible system errors, complete the application at least 1–2 hours before the deadline. Applications submitted after the deadline will not be accepted under any circumstances (system errors will not be considered valid reasons)
5. Important Notes
a. For students admitted from 2004 onward, completion of a second major is mandatory. Students must complete one of the following: advanced major, double major, interdisciplinary major, or student-designed major.
※ For transfer students, the second major is optional
b. Applicants who withdraw from a previously accepted second major to reapply are given only one additional opportunity. If unsuccessful, they must complete an advanced major in their primary major
c. The advanced major is like the previous single-major system
d. Applicants accepted in the second major selection of the current semester must maintain eligibility requirements through the semester and complete required procedures (registration, credit recognition, course registration, course enrollment, etc.). They will then be eligible to begin the second major from the following semester
e. Some interdisciplinary majors are limited to specific campuses or departments; applicants must check the remarks section of the curriculum
f. Interdisciplinary majors related to ‘Law’ are administered by the Law School (e.g., Public Service and Social Norms, Humanities and Justice, Public Governance and Leadership, Software Technology Ventures, Information Security, Medical Humanities, etc.)

6. Announcement of Results: May 11, 2026 (Mon) at 17:00 (tentative) (Portal (KUPID) → Bulletin → Academic Notice)
